About us

Orkla Home & Personal care operates in Norway with distributing markets in Sweden and Finland. It is the Nordic region’s leading – and Norway’s largest – supplier of products for home and personal care.

The company has long traditions in manufacturing and have through more than 190 years developed a wide range of strong brands for home and personal care. Brands that have been loved and trusted by generations. Several of the brands are more than 90 years old.

The portfolio covers categories such as skin care, hair care, deodorants, detergents, dishwash and house cleaning. Some of our strongest brands are Zalo, Omo, Jif, Define, Lano, Grumme, HTH and Bliw. We have the top brands in Norway and challenger positions in Sweden and Finland.

We sell our products to wholesalers, value trade, pharmacies and semi selective in Norway, Sweden and Finland.

OHPC is one of very few players in our industry running the entire value chain in the Nordics, including product development and production.

Our success is based on deep local consumer insight, local innovation, and local production. Local product development and production is extremely valuable and enables speed, transparency, and ability to grow.

The headquarter, including our research & development department, is situated at Skøyen in Oslo - while our production sites are located in Ski , Norway, and in Falun, Sweden.

A brief history of Orkla Home & Personal Care

1833

Established as Lilleborg Fabriker in Oslo in 1833.

1900

Significant brand builder since early 1900. Strong brands – several more than 90 years old.

1930

Unilever bought Lilleborg.

1958

Borregaard aquired Lilleborg from Unilever, and a long term cooperation agreement was entered into (finally concluded in 2021).

1986

Borregaard and Orkla merged and the company becomes part of Orkla.
