What do we look for in a candidate?
Applying for a job is often stressful. What are they looking for in a candidate? How can I show that I'm the right person for the role? Here we hope that you will find answers to most of the questions you are wondering about in the application process.
How much do my grades weigh in getting a job?
In short, we look at the whole package of knowledge, tools and qualifications — not just grades. When you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, we know that you are equipped with knowledge and tools that you will benefit from in your job. This counts more for us than the combination of subjects or what your grades are.
What kind of qualifications are you looking for?
A good candidate is not made of grades or which school you attended. For us, it is important that you have both good analytical and interpersonal abilities.
We are looking for people who are proactive and keen to learn. You need to be prepared to work hard and thrive in a hectic environment that requires efficiency and action.
What should I emphasize during the job interview?
What sorts the chaff from the wheat during the interview is the following: You are enthusiastic and interested in both your possible role in the company and Orkla Home & Personal Care. You know what you are doing and spend time reflecting on the answers you give and the questions you ask.
We want to work with people who love our products and what we work for. If we can’t see it during the interview, it’s hard to know if you’re going to enjoy it here. Talk about your favourite commercial, product or anything else you’ve noticed. And don’t forget to show us who you are! Answer the questions honestly, and don’t answer with what you think we want to hear.
What kind of professional developmant do you offer me?
We highly value development and training. We offer courses, both digital and physical, for various specific segments (for example, supply chain academy, brand academy, sales academy and many, many more) that we recommend our employees to attend.
Some short tips and tricks
Our best tip is not to wait for a job announcement, but to appear on our radar as early as possible. We have many internships and other opportunities throughout the year. This is a great way to show what you’re good at and get a foot in before you finish your education.
Feel free to talk to us at study fairs or other arenas where you can meet us. Ask questions and be curious – we remember students who stand out!
